LIVING A LEGACY

A legacy is one of those things desired by many people and most people want to be remembered for having changed the face of the earth. In as much as we desire the legacy we do not take into consideration all the hard work, focus, and determination involved in achieving that legacy. We always admire the Michael Jordan, Steve jobs, Jim Rohn, Bill Gates and many more who have achieved amazing feats in life and we all wish we could also do the same and maybe some other day be remembered for something worthy.
Whilst many people blame their government, society, parents and loved ones for having prevented them from achieving those feats, where the common talk is of those lamenting saying only if I had gotten the best education, attended the best schools, had lived in an upmarket society, had real pacesetters, my parents were that rich, if I had gotten that scholarship, and many more.
The question is that, Is it worth the blame? Do we only have to blame others for our future and always looking up to someone to make your destiny? Are you predestined to lose? Are you cursed? Are you meant to be in that place forever? Are you created to work for someone for the rest of your life?
The answer is obviously NO. if you have to make a legacy in life, you have to break away that mediocre thinking that was crafted in you by the society and you have to break those chains. It’s time to free yourself up and make a change. Your children and relatives need something worthy to remember you of, long after you are gone and you should be asking yourself if what you are doing is worth remembering.
Your children get the most inspiration from you and if you are not a real pacesetter what more do you expect from them. It is high time you do something worthy remembered for that one day your children may look up to your legacy that they will say, my mother was a great counsellor, my father was the best carpenter, my mother won many awards, my dad founded that very large international corporation. It does not matter what field you are in, but all you need to do is leave a legacy worthy remembering.
Legacy is life, you have to live it that when you are gone you have something to leave behind. Look at Nelson Mandela, he left a legacy and today we always talk about him and remember how he ended arpatheid in South Africa and long after he has gone he is still being remembered.
If you have something really burning in you and you feel that you might want to pursue, just go for it because it is never too late. Just go for it now. It is the right time for you to dream it, try it and live it.
