Run Your Race this 2018

Do you want something so much that you are willing to sacrifice so much that it gets done. This year is filled with many events and I know most of us might have lost the focus and the zeal we had for greatness when we started and we have lost our eyes off the ball and rather concentrate on our feet.

The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.
---- Vince Lombardi.

We have been distracted by mere events that some people are capitalizing for their selfish gains and are in pursuit of their goals and dreams and we suddenly joining them will easily propel them towards the earliest fulfillment of their dreams. As the quote above indicated it is just the will, that keeps us on guard of our dreams and goals and it does not matter what some other people are saying about the possibilities but it is the desire that keeps you focused.

As a famous quote that I love most goes by
Elen Roosevelt, “The future, belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.

The future you desire is in your dreams and getting it done needs your faith to say that it’s possible. I have talked about pace setting of late and some people have been saying that my pace is too small and it seems they can’t keep up with others. They think their dreams are too little compared to others, whilst they dreaming of getting their first job their counterparts are already thinking of quitting their current one to pursue their 10th job, whilst you working hard on perfecting your CV someone is working on registering his company, while you busy working on your education some is quitting it to pursue their passion. We all in different races, and each one has his own race and remember the goal  is to finish the race, but still some will always say you can’t finish the race on the last but on the lead.

You are in your own race, but most of the time we easily join others in their race, you first run before the whistle, you have different races to cover but the starting point is the same and the starting times are different. I remember in one of the races I witnessed, they had different races, some 400m, 800m, 3000m and 5000m but all the athletes stood on the starting line. The first batch was for the 400m followed by the 800m then the others and the first whistle was for the 400m. Now there was this guy who was running for the 3000m who listened to the first whistle and joined these fast guys, he was caught unaware by these guys as they started to sprint in their last 200m and he tried hard to keep up with their pace but literally his potential could not sustain the others veracious speeds and I could feel cursing himself as he dragged himself on the last position to the finish line, he still had hope that he had many rounds still to round but was surprised when the leads reached the finish line they went straight to the recording desks to record their victories. As he looked back he saw another batch of the 800m guys coming, He tried to join these guys as he thought he was on the lead and unnoticeably he joined the 800m race and was the first unfortunately to be disqualified. He was disqualified because he was in the wrong race and he had cheated too and such is life, you can’t cheat yourself into other people’s race or else you risk being disqualified for running other people’s race.
Mind your own potential, listen attentively to your own whistle and don’t be caught off-side like this guy who humiliated himself by running the 400m race when he had the potential to shine in the 3000m race. So many times we caught in this trap, that we strain ourselves and energy in competing with those for the short races when the Lord has prepared you for the big fight. We humiliate ourselves in trying to fight for the pastures with the small boys not realizing that we prepared for the big Goliath whom we can blow with just a sling and a small stone. Know your potential and know what you worthy and this help you to concentrate on the things that matter most to your life rather than worst your time on perfecting other people’s agendas, realizing their dreams and polishing their diamonds. I am not against helping other people but I am against harming yourself in the name of love. True love will also give value to you, as you give what you have, but most people have sacrificed and sold their birthrights for soup.
Don’t trade your potential and dreams for a hug, or acceptance, for it is better to be lonely in your own race, than to be many in someone’s race because the prize will be given to the legitimate runners for the race. Whether you exhaust yourself in someone’s race but as long as you don’t qualify for the race, you just disqualified.

This 2018 I need you to mind your own business, training up to your best, listening to your whistle and running your race and finally getting your prize. Being in your own race will now require you to release that hidden potential in you that you the best of your own life, as you the architect of your own victory. With your thoughts, faith, energy and hope in one place, you will win it. Many a time we humiliated and disqualified not that we not capable but because we ignorant and pay a deaf ear to our whistle and race rules.

This year victory is certain!!!!
